Software Engineering Manager, Core, AI Security Agents

Like Google’s own ambitions, the work of a Software Engineer (SWE) goes way beyond just Search. SWE Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure engineers are able to optimize theirs.

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers to build and launch company-wide AI-based access security features.
• Participate in designing and implementing AI Agents, infrastructure, and integrations.
• Investigate, adopt, and promote across the broader organization the latest technology and best practices in building AI Agents and AI-based security applications.
• Foster an open culture of teamwork and collaboration.
• Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and partner engineering teams to drive high-quality AI-based products and features through the software project life-cycle.
• Identify and mitigate technical, resourcing, and scheduling risks in close collaboration with other leaders and stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience with AI Agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), in-context learning.
